Due Diligence (A.K.A. Cracking Open Her Case)
d lee williams
About the author
d lee williams wants things to be different in this world, and believes they can be. She works towards social, political, emotional, and healing justice – her artwork and writing are methods of documenting the journey. She knows ‘love’ has a lot to do with ‘it’ – but doesn’t quite know what that means yet. At this moment, she identifies as a queer gender-critical feminist of mixed ethnicity and varying skin-tones – but she is only just unpacking what these terms mean to her, and fully recognizes she may self-identify differently minutes, days, or years from now. Her focus currently revolves around identifying and naming systems of oppression; owning and acknowledging unchecked privilege; unlearning patriarchal programming; and recovering from trauma, addictions, and mental health issues exacerbated by living in a disturbed capitalist nightmare. She stands in solidarity with the many courageous rebellious folks that are active in fighting for justice and change. She has a lot to learn and has spent a large part of her life lost in illusion. She is now waking up.
She currently lives and works in Vancouver, unceded Coast Salish territories.
