ORGANIC EVOLUTION
Heather Nicaise
A leaf falls and swirls,
speeds up, slows down:
A jade blur whisked by
waxing and waning drafts,
nonchalantly floating
with no place to call home,
to claim as its own.
No cares, no concerns
about the casual zephyr
until verdant lace garnishes
the ground: Become detritus
or catch another breeze.

Working notes
I focus on the natural world with regards to most of my work. I also weave in social statements or even simple day-to-day struggles without being deliberate; I just have to let it happen. Art can bring something different to everyone: It's never about what the words or photos mean to me but what they mean to the reader.
