I Don't Believe in Marriage
Ruth Lehrer
You think I’m a house
cat but really I’m a tigerfish
house built up on black claws
against orange seamarsh breasts.
I’m an invasive species.
A predator with a herring tail.
A monster under a seabed
floor. A feline crab
living in your bedroom sewer.

I’m an invasive species.

A monster under a seabed
